Costa Rica Rehabilitation Center Costa Rica Medical Tourism Services has its own addictions rehab retreat in Costa Rica. We have named our center “Nueva Vida Health and Wellness”.

In Spanish Nueva Vida means “new life” and that is our mission – to give all those who attend our retreat the keys to a new life. We know that once our clients commit and successfully complete our program their addictions will be a forgotten part of their past.

We recognize the serious health care issues faced by millions of people who are addicted to alcohol and prescription and recreational drugs. We are aware of the need so many families have to be able to obtain access to quality addictions care that is affordable and really provides results.

NUEVA VIDA – OUR PROGRAM

Our holistic addictions retreat located on a beautiful oceanfront estate in Costa Rica succeeds because it provides all the elements of a truly comprehensive and professionally managed addictions rehabilitation program in a unique and beautiful environment. Even though we are located in a tropical paradise this is not a vacation, we are all about serious rehab.

Nueva Vida Health and Wellness Retreat starts its program by providing their client’s a professional in hospital detox, supervised by Dr. Luis Sancho and his team of highly experienced psychiatrists. This assures us that every client is fully detoxed and ready to start the 30 or 60 day program at our Oceanside Estate.

Our rehabilitation program is comprehensive and rigorous and combines various modalities. We include some of the Hazelden 12 Step, Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), daily individual and group therapy sessions along with acupuncture, meditation, exercise and nutrition.

Our daily exercise program along with carefully structured nutrition focuses on improving the overall health and wellness. We have an experienced team of exercise specialists and a resident acupuncturist who specialized in treating addictions. Our own nutritionist and chef work together to create outstanding meals that aid in the recovery process.

Given our exotic location in Costa Rica we have all kinds of activates that include daily exercise and meditation, horseback riding on the beach and in the mountains, kayaking in the ocean and in rivers, rafting, fishing, zip lining, diving and hiking up volcanoes and four wheeling through tropical rainforests. Each activity is meant to foster personal growth.

Nueva Vida is located on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica on a beautiful two acre bluff overlooking the ocean. The property has spectacular ocean views and is covered with lush tropical foliage including coconut palms, mangos, avocadoes and tropical flowers. The climate is sunny and warm (70 to 90 degrees) all year round.

A stay at Nueva Vida is an experience of a lifetime. From the minute the client arrives in Costa Rica his whole experience is about change. It is truly an adventure and life changing experience. We have totally changed the traditional “rehab” experience. Yes, rehab can be fun and yes it works.

The cost of our 60 day treatment at Nueva Vida is less that 1/3 of the cost of a similar program in the United States.
Our program in Costa Rica provides total anonymity – there will be no record of a patient’s attendance – this means an employer, friend or family member will never know about a patient’s treatment.
Our addictions treatment center in Costa Rica is in an exotic and remote location far from the stress and influences typically found back in the United States.

Costa Rica has a fully westernized culture and most people speak English. And it is known worldwide for its excellent medical facilities.

THE LENGTH OF OUR PROGRAMS – 30 / 60 / 90 DAYS

Nueva Vida has 30, 60 and 90 day programs. We strongly recommend at least a 60 day stay. We also have extended stay programs.

The cost of our program includes full room and board, all local transportation, all therapies and counseling, acupuncture, exercise programs, nutrition planning, psychiatrist fees, weekend activities off site and the co management program with therapist in the United States.

There will be an additional charge for medications, specific or emergency medical care, regular doctor visits and our in hospital detox program. All clients must have emergency medical and accident insurance during their entire stay. We have companies that provide this.

FULL PHYSICAL – MEDICAL CHECK UP

We recommend all our patients also spend two days at our hospital in San Jose and take a full two day physical that includes a Colonoscopy, Gastroscopy, full blood profile, chest x rays, abdomen ultra sound including the Pancreas, Kidneys, Liver, Bladder, Prostrate, an Echo Stress test – full exam of the heart and arteries and a complete exam by a physician. A CAT scan and MRI are also available as are a host of other specific tests.

This complete exam costs between $1,500 and $2,000 (less than ¼ of what it would cost in the USA) and will give a person a complete profile of their overall health and may detect any abnormalities in the body.

A FREE DENTAL AND EYE EXAM

We provide all our patients with a complete free dental exam and full evaluation at no charge with one of Costa Rica’s best dental clinics. Dental work in Costa Rica costs 1/4 of what it costs in the United States.
