Our Co-Management Program

One of the important innovations at Nueva Vida is our “Co-Management Program” whereby a client’s therapist at home (in the USA) works with our team during the clients rehab process.

Our Co – Management Program starts with an initial evaluation of the client by the therapist at home prior to the clients leaving for rehab at Nueva Vida. This evaluation will be shared with our staff and aid in developing a specific program for the client.

Then once or twice a week during the client’s entire stay at Nueva Vida the stateside therapist will communicate with the client via phone or Skype to keep abreast and be fully informed of the clients experience and progress at Nueva Vida. This may also include conferences with the rehab staff at Nueva Vida.
Once the client returns home the stateside therapist will be available to provide follow up care and continued therapy for the client.

Our program will pay the USA therapist a co-management fee (approx. $2,000) if the therapist chooses to be a part of this program.

WORKING WITH DETOX CENTERS AND INTERVENTIONISTS IN THE USA

We also work directly with detox centers and interventionist in the United States whereby they can refer clients to us. In many cases we also work with them in a co – management arrangement. We can also provide assistance with the intervention process.

IN HOSPITAL MEDICAL DETOX PROGRAM

For the safety and additional comfort of all our clients we provide in hospital detox for all our clients prior to their attending Nueva Vida. This program is directed and supervised by Dr. Luis Sancho and his team of three psychiatrists that have been doing this for ten years.
The hospital, founded in 1960 is fully accredited by the Joint Commission International and has state of the art equipment along with intensive and emergency care.
Dr. Sancho also treats depression using TMS.

WE FINANCE THE REHAB AND TRAVEL EXPENSES

The cost of our program is less than 1/3 of what a similar program would cost in the United States. To make our program accessible to everyone we also offer financing. Our clients can finance their stay with no money down for up to five years. This means a monthly payment of $250 with no money down. Contact us for more information on this option.

FULL PHYSICAL / MEDICAL CHECK UP

We recommend all our patients spend two days at our medical center in San Jose and take a full two day physical that includes a Colonoscopy, Gastroscopy, full blood, chest x rays, abdomen ultra sound including the Pancreas, Kidneys, Liver, Bladder, Echo Stress test – full exam of the heart and arteries and a complete exam by a physician. A CAT scan and MRI are also available.

This complete exam costs between $1,500 and $2,000 (this is less than ¼ of the typical cost in the USA) and will give a person a complete profile of their overall health and may detect any abnormalities in the body.

FREE DENTAL AND EYE EXAM

We provide all our patients with a complete dental and eye exam along with a full evaluation at no charge with one of Costa Rica’s best dental clinics. Dental work in Costa Rica is among the best in the World and costs 1/4 of what it costs in the United States.
