HOW OUR SERVICE WORKS

Costa Rica Medical Tourism Services (COSTA RICA MTS) is an authorized Medical Tourism Facilitator. Our primary function is to act as a liaison for American and Canadian citizens who, due to financial or insurance reasons, need a medical procedure performed outside of their home country.

CR MTS has its own network of physicians along with a complete staff on the ground in Costa Rica that provides for all the needs of a patient in Costa Rica. This starts with an initial phone consultation with one of our physicians.

If we accept your case we handle all logistics and transportation along with lodging, vacation plans and tours.

HOW TO ACCESS OUR SERVICE

ACCESS OUR FREE MEDICAL PHONE CONSULTATION

Our patient coordinators (Harry Bandinel and Victoria Nikitina) will contact you and arrange a free phone interview with a doctor in the specialty you require. You can personally discuss your case in detail with the doctor. He will also give you a price quote. If you would like a second opinion we will arrange an interview with a second doctor.

Once you have agreed with the doctor to have the procedure done, CR MTS will make all the arrangements, including travel, transportation and lodging for you and any family members that will accompany you.

We can also plan a full vacation and recommend the best places to visit in Costa Rica. Many of these will not be your typical “tourist” attractions, but special places only local residents will know. WHY MEDICAL TOURISM

Why travel abroad for medical procedures? This need may arise due to several reasons. The most common is that the patients insurance does not cover the procedure back home so the patient looks to a foreign country where the cost may be 1/4 of what it is back home.

Another common reason is that the medical procedure is not available in the patient’s home county, such as stem cell therapies or some alternative type medications.

And a third reason may be to combine a vacation with money saving medical procedure. This is most common with dental procedures. In most cases a person can pay for a two week vacation, have all his dental work done and still save money over just having the dental work done back home.

CR MTS OUR ORGANIZATION

Our primary group of doctors is composed of 18 physicians and three dental clinics. Each are recognized leaders in their specialty and are among the best in Costa Rica. This group provides medical services to all our patients. We also have a secondary network composed of 64 additional physicians in 24 specialties that assist and work with our primary group.

All our physicians work in teams and consult and assist each other with all patient cases and surgeries. This in effect provides two to three medical opinions for each patient and procedure. We also have our own group of 20 qualified and experienced nurses that provide any kind of pre or post operation assistance.

Assisting the medical team is an American support and coordinating staff with over 20 years experience in Costa Rica that handles all aspects of transportation, lodging, tourism and post operative care. Our service is turnkey and we will be with you throughout your entire stay in Costa Rica.

HOW CR MTS IS PAID

Our services are free to all our registered clients / patients. As we provide a significant volume of patients to doctors and hospitals every month we get discounts from these providers. These discounts are paid to us in a form of a commission. Using our services costs a patient nothing. Our service is free to our patients (clients).

The only thing we ask is that you register with us so we can put you in our database.

Registering with us implies no commitment of any kind on your part and will allow you one free appointment with anyone of our physicians. This free appointment will allow you to discuss your medical condition and our doctors will provide you with a FREE QUOTE of the cost of your procedure.

TRANSPORTATION AND HOSPITALITY SERVICES

CR MTS has set up a network of support staff and service providers that take care of all our patients needs while in Costa Rica. These include all transportation needs, all lodging, meals and post operative care.

We have selected the best available and negotiated contracts with these providers at greatly reduced rates due to the volume we manage. We pass these savings on to our patients. It’s part of the turnkey service CR MTS provides.
