ORTHOPEDICS IN COSTA RICA – OUR SPECIALTY – KNEE AND HIPS REPLACEMENTS
The most common orthopedic surgeries performed in Costa Rica on patients from the United States are knee and hip replacements. Our surgeons have performed over ten thousand knee and hip replacements over the past ten years with the majority of those on foreign patients.
Our surgeons have studied abroad and taken advanced courses in their areas of specialty. Two of our orthopedists are specialist in knee and hip replacements. They have performed thousands of replacement surgeries and many of them on foreign patients.
OTHER ORTHOPEDIC SPECIALTIES
We have another orthopedic surgeon who specializes in re-constructive surgeries dealing with the reconstruction of limbs that have been damaged as a result of an accident or other trauma. He performs all kinds of corrective surgeries on limbs.
Our forth surgeon specializes in cosmetic orthopedics such as calf implants, bicep implants and other cosmetic enhancements.

OUR OWN RECOVERY CENTER – FURTHER SAVINGS ON POST OP REHABILITATION AND THERAPY
Costa Rica Medical Tourism Service has its own post op recovery center staffed by the best therapists in the country. As part of every surgery we provide a complete and intensive post op rehabilitation program. For example, in the case of a knee replacement, we provide two weeks of two one hour therapy sessions, every day, right at our recovery center. This is a huge benefit to the patient and speeds his recovery and greatly improves the final outcome of the surgery.
ORTHOPEDICS IN COSTA RICA – FOLLOW UP CARE IN THE USA
Costa Rica Medical Tourism Services has agreements with a huge network of doctors in the United States that will provide follow up care in your home town once you are back in the United States. This follow up care will be arranged by us as part of your overall surgery and post op treatment.
ORTHOPEDICS IN COSTA RICA – COMPLICATIONS INSURANCE AND FINANCING
Costa Rica Medical Tourism Services will provide “complication insurance” and financing as an option for all its patients.
The “complication insurance” is underwritten by an A+ rated American insurance corporation. Complication insurance covers the cost of any complication resulting from a surgery or dental procedure for a period of six months after the procedure. Coverage is valid in the United States and in Costa Rica and gives the patient the choice where to have the corrective treatment.
Our financing program will finance 100% of the medical or dental procedure for up to seven years with no money down. The financing includes travel and lodging costs. For example a knee replacement surgery that costs $45,000 in the United States will cost $9,500 in Costa Rica and can be financed for less than $200 per month with zero money down.
